I don’t know about you but I have been somewhere beyond burnt out lately. I have often experienced burnout at work. I pride myself on being a hard worker and I am always willing to go the extra mile but this level of burnout is new to me.
Maybe it’s watching summer come and go from the confines of my home or maybe it’s just the state of the world right now but could someone send help? I am exploring new ways to care for myself during these times and although I am nowhere perfect with my self care routine, I want to keep working at it.
It can just often feel like self care needs to be a complex setup where all the stars align perfectly and I have quiet time to myself to do things I want. I am learning that self care needs to be sprinkled into my everyday life. It can be as simple as lighting a candle that I love to brighten up my home.
By the way, this candle smells absolutely amazing! Like Dole Whip from Disneyland!
Or drinking a glass of water so that I feel good throughout the day. I am a very forgetful person but it is important that I remind myself that self care can be anything that makes me feel good and anything that makes my physical and mental health even a little bit better.
I hope that the world will find a little more peace soon and that we are able to return to some sort of normal but until then here’s your friendly reminder to take care of yourself. Your physical and mental health are important, so go do something (big or small) to care for yourself!
